Food is at the intersection of science, art, culture, and politics. It is the connective tissue between otherwise disparate cultures, and a medium to share what makes those cultures unique. How are we feeding ourselves? How does food characterize our relationships with people, our bodies, and our environment? These are the questions that are asked by Active Culture, a student publication intent on cataloguing the present-day experience through the food that fuels it in the form of recipes, stories, academic writing, and everything in between.
Clemson Nights is a web app I developed with my brother to catalogue the deals in downtown Clemson at night. Potentially, we could create more versions of this for other cities as a helpful way to pick evening plans.
